About the Project
LMSV teaches ethics and values to children through animated video songs, building the foundation for civic-minded, decent and honourable citizens in the next generation of Sri Lanka.
The songs cover more than 50 values including unity, morality, responsibility, discipline, service, grooming, etiquette, and health & safety — the bedrock of a decent society.
Yes. The Ministry of Education has approved and fully supports LMSV, and is actively rolling it out to all government schools across Sri Lanka's 9 provinces.
Currently there are 21 Sinhala songs, 10 Tamil songs, and 1 English song. More songs are being added in all languages.
Songs & Downloads
On the website, click SONG VIDEOS and select Sinhala, Tamil, or English. Click any song to play it, or use the full-screen button. You can also find all songs on the LMSV YouTube channel.
Yes. Click DOWNLOADS on the website, then Songs, Lyrics, Backing Tracks. You can download the Compressed Video, MP3 Music, Backing Track, or Lyrics. Tap the download icon on the top right to save the file.
Compressed videos can be shared via email, WhatsApp, Viber, and IMO. High-resolution videos are best for projectors and multimedia displays but are too large to share on messaging apps.
Click GOOD TO KNOW on the website and select Songs & Values Guide. It lists each song alongside its corresponding values and the most suitable age group.
Yes. Under GOOD TO KNOW, click Songs, Values & Tips. It provides conversation starters and tips for each song, which you can adapt with your own questions and explanations.
Championship
Any child under 20 years of age can participate. There are three age categories: Pre-schoolers (3–6), Primary Schoolers (6–11), and Secondary Schoolers (11–20).
Both are available. Solo entry is for one child. Group entry requires 5 or more children (groups of 2–4 are not eligible for the finals).
Children can sing, deliver a speech, act out a drama, or dance to an LMSV song. Full details are in the Season 4 Championship Instructions on the website.
Teach the child/children to perform well, video-record the performance (a mobile phone is fine), then upload it to the LMSV website as instructed under the Championship tab.
Rs. 4,000,000 worth of prizes will be awarded. Besides children's prizes, there are also bonus prizes for teachers, Facebook users, and those who submit the most participants.
The competition runs online. The finals are held in person at a Colombo hotel — all finalists will be informed of the date, time, and venue.
